These Twin Fawns Seem To Have Adopted Us, As Their 'Mom' Roams Other Places. Romping Around Our Yard, They Are A Joy To Watch!

PLEASE!!!

Would someone...ANYONE... explain to me exactly HOW what I below read in the Washington Post on 7/20...that this is going to inspire these people to seek work, ANY kind of work, to survive? How, exactly, does this CREATE jobs... except in more government bureaus and departments? What kind of self-sufficiency does this inspire in the people who will get this 'free' money that comes from the pockets of those who DO work, who do pay taxes?

Jobless benefits for millions
The measure now goes to the House, where leaders hope to approve it and send it on to the White House on Wednesday. If approved, the measure would restore benefits to more than 2.5 million people who have seen their checks cut off since the emergency program expired June 2. It would also provide up to 99 weeks of income support to a broader universe of jobless workers through the end of November.

ESPECIALLY when the day before, the following article appeared in the same newspaper:
Jobs for the Picking http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/18/opinion/18sun3.html?th&emc=th Many accuse immigrants of stealing American jobs. The United Farm Workers union replied "How can immigrants steal jobs nobody else wants?"

Now I know that many of the present unemployed really need this kind of help and have absolutely no options of any kind for even minimum wage jobs... and that many of them would grab ANY job if it was available to them. And I am the last one on earth to deny help to them. But PLEASE! When the government paints with a broad brush like this, enabling loafers and encouraging dependency, who thinks that this does anything more than "SPREADING THE WEALTH" as Obama has so famously admitted to wanting to do to our country??? Cradle-to-grave dependency. Pure, sweet, and simple.

What kind of backbone does it create in people? How many NON-GOVERNMENT jobs does it create? How many potential entrepreneurs does it stifle in a world of big brotherism? I don't know the answers, do you? But I know sure as hell in November 2012 that I will be voting ABO.

(Anybody But Obama.)

CAP 7/21/10
P.S. Yes, I DO have an answer to all of this. It will appear here on the website tomorrow 7/22/10.
YOU WANT RADICAL?

Today you get it. We start over. Put American spirit back into Americans who have lost it in the blur of insane technology overtaking core values. Ever hear and understand the meaning of ... the word RURAL? We go back to the future. And it won't be pretty. There would be casualties. As HST observed, "...if you want to make an omelet you first crack some eggs", and his favorite, "...if you can't stand the heat stay the hell out of the kitchen." Let his words help you understand what follows:

When the United States of America was formed, and for over a century that followed, this country was a RURAL country where the vast majority of our forefathers lived off the land and bore the hardships that went along with that lifestyle. The ethos of hard work and self sufficiency enabled them to survive and prosper, as succeeding generations grew softer and softer, escaping to the bright lights of the big cities rather than toil. In essence, that is what education and continuing technology fostered. And things went well for another century.

But now we have humans piled up in gigantic ant hills (big cities) with (figuratively speaking) no ant food within reach. Don't quit reading, the best is yet to come. So our country now has a benevolent 'God' who wants to provide ant food at the expense of others. He just can't quite figure out who the "others" are. So he pours massive amounts of money he doesn't have into the ant hills to feed the occupants. And to prop up organizations that supply the ant food. And here we are, now and today. No money, no food for the ant hills.

I say this: Use that money to acquire the mega-millions of acres of land in this country that is owned by a few immense corporations (often foreign or off-shore companies). Using the tax money, either buy them out at a sane and reasonable price, or seize the land by right of imminent domain. From any one of hundreds of mega-land holders who, over the past 75 years, have gobbled up farmland and put out of business many thousands of 'mom & pop' farms, and then... in so doing... these companies have been supported by inane tax laws. Many huge companies that then pay little or no taxes as a result.

Declare the "HOMESTEAD ACT OF 2010", dole the land out into quarter sections, 160 acres (in areas of very fertile soil, 40 acres) per family willing to go back to the land to learn how to live as free people who become self-supportive. If necessary, finance them for 24 months so that they can get their feet on the ground. Then the government should stand down, back off, and get the hell out of the way.

And for those able-bodied people who are too lazy to go that way... tough shit. They are now on their own in their ant hill of misery with no free lunch from the government. In essence, turn the clock back in time to the years when people became strong to survive. Create a generation or two of citizens that know only hard work is what opens the door to the future.

'Far-out' thinking you say, 'off-the-wall'?  Well, if you have a better idea on how to turn our country around, let's hear it. In the meantime I will see you at the voting booth next November ... and again in 2012 ... when we will share a 'cup-of-TEA."

CAP 7/22/10
WOULDN'T IT BE A HOOT!!

Now don't hold your breath about this one, or start laughing at me. I am only going to report on what I read (and you may well have also read the same thing) and then give you a "What If" to ponder about during Happy Hour today. (Grab your seat belts for this one!)

Seems the media (maybe weary of ranting about 'the-oil-spill') was all agog because by some means not yet clear to me, in Germany there is a live OCTOPUS by the name of PAUL who accurately predicted the World Cup results. This was reported by 'Reuters News Agency' and picked up by everyone. (Slow news day perhaps?) My first question would be to ask HOW they know the critter's name shouldn't be PAULINE.

But wait: That ain't all. One of Russia's most popular newspapers said it had managed to get 'Paul' to forecast who will be Russia's next president! This was reported in the Washington Post. Now perhaps either they are smoking some new and strange leafy substance over there or feeding this poor captive Octopi a steady diet of out-dated LSD that has gained new powers hereto unknown to we mere mortals.

Remembering the 'Cardiff Giant' hoax of past years, if this is what 'PAUL' is all about, everything is in the spirit of good clean fun while hurting nobody. Sometimes something this stupid is just what the doctor ordered to give our minds a break from Obama, the oil spill, Obama, Afghanistan, Obama, the sleazy Pelosi, and Obama. Give us all a chuckle, so that we can handle life until November 2012.

However, WHAT IF? What if we humans, who think we are so damn smart, are merely pawns of, and idiots to be tolerated by, a higher form of intelligence that co-exists with us on Planet Earth, and by reason of their carefully hidden brainpower they survive in the safe deeps of the oceans of the world, far away from the wars of mankind and inanities of our present Obamaworld? Just waiting until the ice caps have ALL melted and they can reclaim the Planet of 'Oceania' for themselves, free from harpooning nincompoops.

And then along comes a malcontent teenage Octopus who blows the whistle on the fact that humanoids are only a nuisance to be tolerated until they have finally managed to destroy each other, thus leaving the planet to the wise ones? (Paul, now being kept in a 'safe-tank', out of reach of his peers who would eat him alive in a second for exposing the fact, that by comparison, big sea-life makes Bill Gates and Warren Buffett look like blithering idiots.)

And it is now that I recall the ancient sailor's chantey... "Many strange things are asleep in the deep, so beware, beware, beware!"

O.K., I've had my fun! Hope it gave you a smile. SKOAL!

CAP 7/23/10
IT'S ABOUT TIME!

This below headlined article appeared in yesterday's edition of the WASHINGTON POST newspaper:

D.C. Schools Chancellor Michelle A. Rhee has fired 241 city teachers for poor classroom performance. The dismissals are the first under a rigorous new evaluation system launched this year.

This is something long overdue nationwide. I have followed the career of Michelle Rhee ever since she first appeared on the scene in Washington D.C. a few years back, and I greatly admire her hands-on approach to taking care of biz. Her record speaks for itself on how she has greatly improved the educational system in our nation's capitol. For sure, she has bruised more than a few egos and made some political enemies in the process, but that has not slowed her down in what very much appears to be her genuine effort to change things that badly need changing. My hat is off to her!

In my humble opinion (an opinion that is certain to ruffle a few feathers in the teaching profession) two (of several) primary reasons for the steady decline in our nation's educational system have been teacher's and professor's "TENURE" and the ever demanding teacher's UNIONS. Yes, there is no question that in many cases they have improved the lot of teachers as a whole. BUT... with little or no regard as to whether or not the individual teachers were 'exceptional' ... or miserable misfits who are only interested more in what the profession can do for THEM, not what they can do for the teaching profession and those they teach.

If our nation's education system is to EVER improve, it needs big changes at EVERY level... government, administrators, school boards, unions, teachers, and last (but certainly not least) parental attitudes that combine common sense with CARING parenting. (To me, 'caring-parenting' includes giving a child who sasses the teacher a firm swat or two on the ass... not giving the child a "poor baby" and then screaming at the teacher for upsetting their sweet, 'innocent' child!)

To see Michelle Rhee shaking the tree of deadwood is a GOOD sign. Our kids deserve better than what they have been getting. Even more so in the light of the tremendous amount of our tax money that we pour into the system.

CAP 7/24/10

LIFE IS TOUGH???
(It's been tougher.)

Ask any generation older than yours. You can start with me. I survived the Great Depression AND WW 2. We lived through misery and are here to talk about it. But compared to what my parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents had to live through, we had it damn soft. We had electricity, running water, our 'outhouse' was in the house. And we could even flush it!

Get where I am going? Early on we had no telephone or TV, but we had a RADIO. An unknown or unheard of thing for my great-grandparents. Who early on could buy a brand new Motel T Ford... if they had about $500 CASH. (Not many folks had that kind of money though...) If they wanted to go someplace, they did not have to hitch up a team of horses, or throw a saddle on an old nag that was no longer any good to use as a plow horse.

And in short order, my generation could even buy a good used Ford for much less, with gas about fourteen cents a gallon. My very first car was a 'Model A' two door sedan in great condition, bought it for $25 cash when I turned 15. Money that it had taken me a whole year to save for that purpose. When WW II broke out, at age 16 I joined the US Navy and sold my beloved Model A for $50. My Navy pay was $50 per month and very shortly went way up to $90 monthly. Even more, $118 monthly when I was shipped overseas for 18 months.

When my next generation was born (baby boomers), a girl followed by a boy, I bought a home for my new family for $6,250. The house had a wood or coal burning furnace that had to be kept going by constantly putting in more wood or coal, lest it go out and the whole house got cold quick. By the time they were teens homes were starting to be heated by oil or gas furnaces that not only had forced air heat, the temperature could be controlled by a wall thermostat, no need to even go to the basement!

And during hot weather, there were fans that could be placed in windows to circulate the air. Soon followed by room air conditioners, and what a blessing it was to be able to actually go into one room of the house, shut the door, and stay cool when the outside temp was in the 90s! And for an extra price there was an option to put air conditioning in a car! Wonder of wonders!

Today the children of those baby boomers have air conditioning in autos that is standard at no extra cost, and most live in a house with automatic WHOLE HOUSE air conditioning, an automatic through-the-door ice dispenser in their frig, TV, and cell phones. (My Mom had an ICE BOX in her kitchen cooled by a block of ice delivered daily by the same company that sold coal during the winter.)

So the next time you hear someone wishing for the "Good Old Days", take a minute and think of the above things. (And maybe consider that during those 'old days' grocery stores had NO frozen food section, little or no refrigerated sections, carried no fresh meat (trip to a nearby butcher shop for TOUGH meat was required, few if any fresh fruits and veggies during the winter, and 'ready-to-eat' meals did not exist).

Yes, life IS tough today for many. Always has been, always will be. But it used to be a whale of a lot tougher for most...

CAP 7/25/10
The Next Two Years.

One of the wisest men on the political scene these days is Dr. Charles Krauthammer. I respect his even-minded intelligence and analytical skills far above any other columnist or 'talking-head' out there. (If you know little or nothing about this wise man, I urge you to listen to him when he appears on the boob tube, or read his weekly column in the National Review.)

In a recent article he states, what has already become apparent to many, that for the next two years Obama will be "...running for reelection in 2012." I say never underestimate Obama. While he has been one of our nation's worst Presidents, he has NEVER forgotten the lessons of Chicago Politics he learned at the feet of one disgraced Governor or Congressperson after another during his years living there and learning the ropes on how to twist and bend the political system to HIS personal benefit. Smarter than 'Blago', but cut from the same cloth.

And never forget, he considers his first term ONLY as a learning time for when, as a firmly entrenched second term President, he will know every sly, scheming, sleazy trick in the books to further his SOCIALISTIC AGENDA.

Never also forget the lessons the world learned following the rise and fall of Marxism under the hand of Lenin and then Stalin. The horrors under Stalin (an estimated 20 MILLION killed under his regime, millions of RUSSIANS by Stalin's hands) and the consequences of Socialism/Communism that the world faced and are still facing today. The fall of the Berlin wall SHOULD have been an eye opener for any doubters of the evil world they created.

"Those who fail to heed the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat them." Words for you to never forget as Obama begins his personal political campaign "FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS". And for those who voted for him the first time, I offer this age-old saying: "Fool me once and shame on you. Fool me twice and shame on me."

CAP 7/26/10
CLASS IS IN SESSION.

So listen up! Or, in the words I would bellow on the ship's P.A. System after first blowing my Bos'n Pipe (that I still have) during my long, long ago US Navy days: "D'ya hear there?" (Old ex-Navy men will smile when they read that. And be happy they no longer have to hear the shrill call of the pipe. Especially when they are sleeping!)

We ALL want to succeed in life. Do well and make good money. Have a good life. Even the bum who has hit the bottom of the barrel, who seems to have no way to climb back up. We still want those things. Right? So the great majority of us go through life working towards those ends, doing what has to be done, many living up to their responsibilities and needs by living a life of drudgery or monotony at work they can barely tolerate. Often because they have no other option.

But no matter what level of success a person has, how much (or how little) money they make, how much they do (or don't) enjoy their day-to-day life, there ALWAYS exists a way to make themselves feel a wee bit happier with themselves. A bit more at peace with some inner demon, or to provide themselves with a degree of pride, self-satisfaction, worthiness, that is available no other way. And ALWAYS the opportunity is there for them to achieve it.

So simple. Do more than is asked. Walk the extra mile for someone. Give 110% instead of 100%. Do volunteer work for a worthy (non-political) cause. Help someone who needs help badly without being asked to do so. Forget your problems and walk in the other person's shoes for awhile... then HELP them.

That's all. Your reward WILL be in your mind. Forever there. The more often you do it, the more treasure you will have forever stashed in your memory bank. While 'money' in the corner bank comes and goes, more often just goes. In the words of the famous TV jingle, "Try It... You'll Like It!"

Class dismissed.

CAP 7/27/10
WHERE THERE IS SMOKE

The following appeared in the Las Vegas Review-Journal written by Wayne Allyn Root. The article has been confirmed to have been written by the man who was a college classmate of Obama. As it flows precisely with all that has happened since January 2009 when Obama was sworn in, it is exceedingly hard to ignore. With the rapid decline of Obama's approval ratings (said to be the fastest of any President since polls began being taken and now well under 50% ) it demands our attention as something to think about.
Cap 7/28/10

WAYNE ALLYN ROOT: Overwhelm the system

Barack Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.

Barack Obama is my college classmate (Columbia University, class of '83). As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward &Piven, two professors at Columbia University. They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

-- Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with health care.  It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government. Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?

-- Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants. They will kickback hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power. The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around."

-- Make Puerto Rico a state. Why? Who's asking for a 51st state? Who's asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression? Certainly not American taxpayers. But this has been Obama's plan all along. His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.

-- Legalize 12 million illegal immigrants. Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America. But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government. Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security.

-- Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America. The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful. The ends justify the means.

-- Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama). Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition.

With the acts outlined above, Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.

Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme -- all devised by my Columbia University college classmate Barack Obama using the Cloward and Piven Plan.
ROTTEN EGGS

Most folks these days have never smelled a really rotten egg once its shell has been cracked. Modern day methods of egg production sees to that. Years ago it wasn't that way, and those of us who remember those days also remember the disgusting stink quite well, thank you.

Well another 'rotten egg' in Congress has had his shell cracked. I am referring to the 40 year (that's right FORTY YEARS IN CONGRESS) New York Rep. Charles Rangel (Demo) who was recently divested of his Chairmanship of the powerful Ways and Means committee. And at this writing he is scheduled to go on trial in front of the House 'Ethics Committee', where, if found guilty of the (indisputable) charges he could be ejected from Congress. Just like the sleazy Jim Traficant (Demo) was in 2002.

Consider for a minute the exorbitant wealth of Rangel... do you think for one minute that it came from his Congressional salary? If so, why was he so carefully hiding it, to the point of even failing to report income to avoid IRS exposure? The smell of a rotten egg is simply overwhelming. Still another of those in Congress who are more concerned about what is good for THEM rather than what is good for the country. Which is typical of politicians who make a life's career of being in power for far, far too long. (FORTY years for Rangel.) Any wonder the approval rating of Congress is at a record low?

Now here is the truly disgusting part of all of this: If Rangel will simply confess to the ethics committee that he has indeed broken all the rules of Congress (that he in fact has), cheated on his taxes, failed to disclose illegal contributions, etc., etc., all will be forgiven and there will be no trial! He will be allowed to remain in office, continuing to spread his stink all over the floor of the House of Representatives, which can only imply to new members of Congress that they can get away with almost anything short of murder.

It doesn't matter whether you are Demo, GOP, or Independent... the smell of this rotten egg should make you angry, make you want to do something about it. If you throw up your hands and say "I am only one person, therefore I can do nothing", well, you deserve to keep smelling the stink. On the other hand, if you DO SOMETHING about it next November, and take the time to inspect the 'eggs' that you are sending to Congress BEFORE voting for them, you have done your duty to your country.
